Brussels, Aug. 7 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Japan has officially joined the Horizon Europe program, highlighting the scientific cooperation between the two sides.

Stressing that Europe and Japan prioritize science and partnership, von der Leyen said, "Europe always chooses science and partnership. Japan does too. Japan is now officially associated with Horizon Europe."
Referring to the opportunities this participation will bring, von der Leyen stated, "This means that Japanese researchers and institutions will be able to participate in the world's largest publicly funded research and innovation program."
Von der Leyen concluded her remarks by saying, "Let's open new horizons together."
