U.S. equity markets ended the trading day with a mixed performance. While the Dow Jones Industrial Average posted gains, selling pressure was concentrated in technology-heavy indexes.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rose 0.17 percent to 50,872.11 points. The Russell 2000 Index, which tracks small-cap companies, also gained 0.10 percent to reach 2,867.02 points.

In contrast, the broad-market S&P 500 Index fell 0.26 percent to 7,386.65 points. The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.97 percent to 25,678.82 points, while the Nasdaq 100 Index declined 1.12 percent to close at 29,084.50 points.
