U.S. President Trump: The U.S. will receive 50 percent of the profits
Washington, July 24 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the terms of the agreement had been changed after Canada decided not to invite the United States to the opening ceremony of the Gordie Howe Bridge.
U.S. President Donald Trump commented on tariffs and the revised terms of the bridge agreement, stating that the profits would be shared equally.
Addressing the invitation issue and tariffs, Trump said: "Canada decided not to invite the United States to the opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge; that's not a problem, considering they pay substantial tariffs to the United States."
Criticizing the previous agreement and explaining the changes, Trump stated: "However, the original bridge agreement, which was negotiated extremely poorly by a previous administration, is no longer valid. We have changed the terms of the agreement, and the United States will now receive 50 percent of the profits."
