UNRWA Commissioner-General Lazzarini issues Eid al-Fitr message
New York, March 20 (Hibya) - Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), highlighted the humanitarian crisis in the region in his Eid al-Fitr message, emphasizing that peace must become a "reality" rather than a "wish" for all communities, including Palestine.
UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini issued a statement on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr amid ongoing conflicts and humanitarian challenges in the Middle East.
Lazzarini addressed the global community, particularly referring to the difficulties faced by Palestinian refugees and people in the region.
Referring to the difficult conditions in the region, Lazzarini said: "I extend my warmest wishes for Eid al-Fitr to everyone in the region and around the world."
Emphasizing peace in his message, Commissioner-General Lazzarini stated:
"In these dark times, I hope that the message of peace becomes a reality for all communities in the Middle East, including Palestine."
