Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: Russia continues to cause suffering to Ukrainian families
Kyiv, April 1 (Hibya) - The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 6-year-old Yevheniia, who was seriously injured in a Russian attack on the Sumy region on March 28, has died despite all efforts by doctors.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on the consequences of Russia’s bombardments targeting civilian settlements.
Providing details of the attack, the Ministry stated: “Six-year-old Yevheniia died in hospital after being seriously injured in a Russian attack. During the attack, her older sister tried to protect her with her own body. Doctors fought to save the child’s life, but her injuries proved fatal.”
The statement noted that the incident occurred in the Sumy region: “The girl was injured on March 28 during a bombardment of a settlement in the Shostka district of the Sumy region by Russian forces. In the attack, her 20-year-old sister Dasha Serhiienko was killed. The girls’ parents were also injured.”
Condemning Russia’s actions targeting civilians, the Ministry said: “Russia continues to cause suffering to Ukrainian families and to kill children with a future. The international community must put an end to Russia’s terror and ensure full accountability for every life taken.”
