Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: Message issued for UN International Day of Peacekeepers
Kyiv, May 29 (Hibya) - In a message released on the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Peacekeepers, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Ukraine has participated in more than 27 international operations since 1992 with approximately 45,000 military personnel.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a message on the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Peacekeepers. The message honored those who dedicated their lives to peacekeeping missions and thanked personnel contributing to the preservation of peace around the world.
The statement noted that since 1992, Ukraine has participated in more than 27 United Nations and international operations with approximately 45,000 military personnel. Peacekeeping personnel have been involved in civilian protection, demining activities, humanitarian assistance, and infrastructure projects. It was also emphasized that many Ukrainian soldiers who previously served in peacekeeping missions are now defending their country against Russia.
