Ukrainian and Lithuanian foreign ministers meet ahead of EU Foreign Affairs Council
Kyiv, March 9 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys discussed sanctions against Russia, energy cooperation and regional security during a meeting held ahead of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha held a meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Budrys ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.
During the meeting, strengthening sanctions against Russia and maintaining the unity of the European Union in support of Ukraine were among the priority topics. The ministers also discussed the importance of close cooperation between countries and increasing regional resilience in light of existing energy challenges.
Sybiha also informed about Hungary’s illegal seizure of funds belonging to Ukrainian citizens and a state bank, stressing that such practices should be condemned across Europe.
The sides also exchanged views on Ukraine’s contributions to regional and international security, particularly its experience in combating new threats emerging in regions such as the Middle East.
