Ukraine celebrates ASEAN Day
Kyiv, August 8 (Hibya) - The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expressed appreciation for ASEAN's contribution to regional peace and cooperation and voiced hope for progress on Ukraine's application for Sectoral Dialogue Partner status.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued a congratulatory message to the peoples of Southeast Asia on the occasion of ASEAN Day. The ministry stated that ASEAN, which has been operating for nearly 60 years, has become an important organization in terms of regional dynamism, resilience and diplomacy.
In the message, which praised ASEAN's efforts to support economic growth, connectivity and people-centered development, Ukraine said it values ASEAN's commitment to multilateralism and its constructive role at the global level. The ministry also expressed hope that meaningful progress would be made on Ukraine's application for Sectoral Dialogue Partner status with ASEAN.
