Trump: New York Times called NATO the North American Treaty Organization
Washington, April 4 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the New York Times for misnaming NATO, arguing that the outlet is losing credibility and its journalistic standards are declining.
U.S. President Donald Trump, in a statement on social media, pointed out that the New York Times (NYT) incorrectly used NATO’s official name.
Trump claimed the newspaper is losing circulation and credibility, saying: “The failing New York Times, whose circulation has dropped tremendously due to its loss of credibility and constant fake news attacks against your favorite President — me, called our extremely weakened and very unreliable ‘partner’ NATO the North American Treaty Organization.”
Correcting the mistake and criticizing NYT’s structure, Trump said: “The correct name is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization — very interesting mistake! Hiring and training standards at NYT have greatly declined.”
Trump concluded: “Bring back all the news fit to print and make America great again.”
