Trump: Iran has accepted the highest level of nuclear inspections
Washington, June 23 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Iran has accepted comprehensive nuclear inspections and said talks between the parties are progressing positively.
U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that despite Iran's objections and statements to the contrary, it has fully agreed to the highest level of nuclear inspections in the future.
Trump said that this step would ensure "nuclear integrity" and added that negotiations would not continue if Iran refused to accept the inspections.
Trump also stated that, in light of Iran's concessions, he approved keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and refraining from imposing a new naval blockade, although he noted that the issue could return if circumstances change.
He further explained that funds released by the U.S. Treasury Department and resources available under sanctions arrangements would be held in a U.S.-controlled escrow account. Trump said: "Money released by the U.S. Treasury Department and/or sanctions-related funds will be deposited into a U.S.-controlled escrow account and will only be used to purchase food and medical supplies from the United States, including corn, wheat, and soybeans from our great American farmers."
Trump noted that products such as corn, wheat, and soybeans could be supplied to meet Iran's humanitarian needs. He stressed that the talks are progressing well and thanked everyone for their interest in the process.
