Thousands in Caracas demand Maduro’s release
Stockholm, February 4 (Hibya) – On Tuesday, thousands of people took to the streets of Caracas to demand the release of Venezuela’s former president Nicolás Maduro, who was allegedly abducted by the United States earlier this year.
Protesters chanted, “Venezuela needs Nicolás.”
Maduro’s son, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, was also present on the main stage at the end point of the march.
In a statement on Tuesday, Nicolás Maduro Guerra reiterated that in the face of the U.S. attack on January 3, the unity of the Venezuelan people is of fundamental importance to preserving peace and stability in the country.
“The greatest strength we have today is the unity of Venezuelan families, the unity of the Venezuelan people; the unity of the people, the military, and the police,” Guerra said, emphasizing that this forms part of the message from the presidential couple to the Venezuelan people aimed at strengthening the country’s political and social cohesion.
