Syrian Foreign Minister al-Shaibani meets with Haftar's deputy
Benghazi, October 11 (Hibya) - Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met with Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, in Benghazi, Libya. The meeting addressed the opening of a Syrian Consulate General in Benghazi and security matters between the two countries.
According to a statement from Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met with Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army, in Benghazi, Libya. Al-Shaibani was accompanied by Major General Abdul Qader Tahan, head of the General Intelligence Directorate.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation on matters of mutual interest. Discussions included opening a Consulate General of the Syrian Arab Republic in Benghazi, addressing shared security matters between the two sides, and following up on the status of Syrian citizens reported missing in Libya.
