Sybiha: Ukraine evacuates wounded soldier using heavy-lift drone
Kyiv, October 24 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that a wounded soldier had been evacuated from the Kupiansk front using a heavy-lift drone.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine had carried out its first aerial evacuation of a wounded soldier during the war using a heavy-lift unmanned aerial vehicle.
Sybiha explained that Kostiantyn Vlasenko, a member of the 30th Mechanized Brigade on the Kupiansk front, had held his position for 491 days despite severe injuries and going weeks without medical assistance. He reported that during an operation involving multiple Ukrainian units, a specially adapted Ukrainian-made drone lifted the soldier 120 meters into the air and transported him to a safe area. A ground robotic vehicle then carried the soldier to a medical stabilization point.
Sybiha emphasized that the operation demonstrated Ukraine's technological innovations in the military field, adding that his country was ready to share its life-saving experience with partners to strengthen security in Europe and around the world.
