Sybiha: Russia lost 54,400 troops in October
Kyiv, November 1 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha claimed that Russia lost 54,400 troops, either killed or seriously wounded, in its war against Ukraine during October. Describing the figure as the highest monthly loss recorded since the beginning of the war, Sybiha said, "This is the price Russia is paying for Putin's refusal to end the senseless slaughter."
Sybiha reported that the Russian army's daily losses had also reached record levels, stating that 2,250 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded on October 21. He noted that Ukraine's Defense Forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of territory in October, exceeding the area captured by Russia during the same period by 10.4 square kilometers.
Sybiha argued that despite its losses, Russia had made no progress toward achieving its war objectives. "Russia is not winning this war and cannot win it," he said. Stating that Ukraine wants to end the war and is ready for fair, mutually acceptable solutions to stop the fighting, Sybiha noted that Moscow had not yet reached that point.
Sybiha emphasized the need to increase international pressure in all areas to bring Russia to the negotiating table and restore peace. He stated that the cost of the war for Russia's leadership and those around it must continue to rise.
