Sharif holds phone call with French President Macron
Islamabad, April 9 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a statement regarding his phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif evaluated the content of his conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and regional developments.
Highlighting the nature of the call and the peace process, Sharif said: “President Macron kindly congratulated Pakistan on its sincere efforts to facilitate the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, and also commended its role in bringing the two sides to the negotiating table.”
Referring to future talks in Islamabad, Sharif stated: “I deeply appreciate his kind words and good wishes for the success of the upcoming peace talks in Islamabad. Pakistan will continue to work with its partners and friends, including France, to turn this opportunity into lasting peace.”
Expressing concerns about regional security, Sharif added: “We shared our serious concerns about the ongoing aggression in Lebanon and emphasized the urgent need to end violence and the loss of innocent lives.”
