Saar: UK Consulate General in Jerusalem to be closed
Jerusalem, September 8 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announced a series of countermeasures in response to the United Kingdom's new sanctions against Israel and said the UK Consulate General in Jerusalem would be closed.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced the measures Israel will implement in response after the UK Labour government unveiled new sanctions against Israel.
Saar said the UK Consulate General in Jerusalem would be closed, British representatives would be removed from the Gaza International Aid Center in Kiryat Gat, and UK training activities for Palestinian Authority forces in the West Bank would be halted.
Saar said 12 British politicians and citizens, who were said to have engaged in activities against Israel, would be barred from entering the country, adding, “Our message to every government that harms Israel is clear: whoever acts against Israel will face Israel's response and will lose its influence and relevance in the region.”
Saar said, “Steps against Israel will not go unanswered.”
