Saar: Iran’s violation of its obligations should be brought before the UN Security Council
Jerusalem, June 10 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar argued that Tehran had violated its nuclear obligations following the decision adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors regarding Iran.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar commented on the decision adopted by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regarding Iran.
The resolution adopted by the Board of Governors included findings that Iran had violated its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Pointing to the Iranian government's lack of cooperation, Saar stated:
"The IAEA Board of Governors today adopted a resolution emphasizing that the Iranian regime is clearly violating its NPT obligations. The Iranian regime’s refusal to cooperate, grant access to inspections, and remedy its non-compliance cannot continue. Referring this matter to the United Nations Security Council is a necessary step that is long overdue."
Saar said that bringing the matter before the United Nations Security Council was necessary.
