Finnish President Alexander Stubb participated in a panel discussion on the United Nations and peace mediation together with Kenyan President William Ruto.

In his remarks, Stubb stated that the United Nations should be stronger and that its decision-making mechanisms should reflect today’s realities.

Emphasizing that the African continent should have a stronger voice in the international system, Stubb said that the first step should be granting Africa two permanent seats on the UN Security Council.

During the panel, views supporting the strengthening of global peace and multilateral diplomacy mechanisms were highlighted.
