Russia’s Easter ceasefire has come into effect
Moscow, April 12 (Hibya) - The Orthodox Easter ceasefire declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin has come into effect. It was reported that the ceasefire will continue until midnight on Sunday.
According to CCTV, based on a statement from the Kremlin, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov were instructed to halt military operations on all fronts. At the same time, troops were asked to remain prepared for possible attacks and provocations.
Russia’s Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova stated that the ceasefire provides an important opportunity for the evacuation of the wounded and the search for missing persons.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that his country would respond to the ceasefire and comply with it.
