According to a statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar was represented at the meeting by Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi.

In his remarks, Al Khulaifi said the meeting was taking place at a time when the diversity of actors involved in mediation processes was increasing, emphasizing the need for a coordinated and comprehensive approach to make the best use of this diversity.

Referring to Qatar’s mediation activities, Al Khulaifi said they were working in various regions, particularly Gaza, Afghanistan, Lebanon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to bridge differences between the parties and preserve hope for peace.

Al Khulaifi said that as part of joint efforts with Pakistan, work was underway to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States, preserve freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and promote peace and stability in the region.

Al Khulaifi said two key lessons had emerged from this experience: the indispensability of partnerships and the need for mediators to carry out their roles in a safe, independent and impartial manner. He also emphasized that successful mediation processes require full respect for confidentiality and the integrity of the process.
