Prevot: I reaffirm our pursuit of a just and lasting peace
Brussels, April 1 (Hibya) - Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot stated, on the anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine’s city of Bucha, that those responsible for violations of international law must be held accountable and emphasized Belgium’s full support for Ukraine.
Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot spoke about the European Union (EU) foreign ministers’ meeting held in Kyiv.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Ukraine, Prevot said: “We stand in solidarity with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Kyiv and our European colleagues. Although I could not attend in person, my heart and mind are with our Ukrainian friends.”
Stating that what happened in Bucha must not be forgotten, Minister Prevot said: “As stated in our joint declaration, I reaffirm Belgium’s unwavering support for Ukraine; our commitment to full accountability for all violations of international law in Bucha and beyond, and our pursuit of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.”
