Preparatory meeting held for Qatar-Egypt joint committee
El-Alamein, August 19 (Hibya) - A preparatory meeting was held with the participation of senior officials from both countries ahead of the seventh session of the Qatar-Egypt Joint Higher Committee.
At the meeting held in Egypt's El-Alamein, the progress achieved in bilateral cooperation and the documents planned to be signed at the committee's seventh session, which will take place tomorrow, were discussed.
The meeting was chaired by Nayef Al Emadi, Director of the Arab Affairs Department at Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ihab Fahmy, Egypt's Deputy Foreign Minister. Economic, investment and trade relations between the two countries were reviewed.
The parties expressed satisfaction with developments in Qatar-Egypt relations in various fields, particularly following the launch of the first phase of the “Alam El Roum” project.
The meeting also discussed the agreement to launch the first round of negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the two countries in October. The process aims to “contribute to economic integration and serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.”
The Qatari and Egyptian sides also expressed satisfaction with the regular convening of the Joint Higher Committee meetings, emphasizing the importance of close coordination and continuous consultations on regional and international issues.
