Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that political consultations and Joint Trade Committee meetings between Pakistan and New Zealand were held in Wellington. The meetings, held on August 6, were described as an important step toward strengthening relations between the two countries.

The meetings addressed bilateral relations as well as enhanced cooperation in economic development, trade, investment, education, technology, energy, agriculture and services. The parties also exchanged views on regional and international developments and cooperation on multilateral platforms.

Within the framework of the Joint Trade Committee, the parties discussed increasing trade and investment in agriculture, livestock, information technology, education and services, improving market access and strengthening cooperation in sustainable agriculture. One of the key outcomes of the meetings was the signing of an Education Cooperation Arrangement between Pakistan and New Zealand, which is expected to further strengthen cooperation in the field of education.
