Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic met with Croatian gymnasts and officials of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation.

During the meeting held at Banski dvori, Plenkovic congratulated the athletes and federation officials on the successful organization of the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships for juniors and seniors in Zagreb. Plenkovic said, "Croatia has once again shown that it can successfully host major sporting events."

Plenkovic also congratulated Ilija Kovtun, who won two gold medals for Croatia, saying, "With two gold medals in the parallel bars and all-around, he demonstrated his outstanding preparation across all disciplines."

Noting that the summer period in Croatian sport was marked by significant achievements in gymnastics, athletics, swimming and water polo, Plenkovic said, "These results are one of the reasons why the government continues its strong support for sport."
