Phone call between Qatar and Peru
Doha, April 10 (Hibya) - Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi and Peru’s Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela held a phone call discussing regional developments and the ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
During the phone call between Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi and Hugo de Zela, recent developments in the region and the international agenda were discussed.
The discussion particularly focused on developments related to the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran. The Qatari side reiterated its satisfaction with the ceasefire and emphasized the need to strengthen the process to prevent further escalation in the region.
Muraikhi also highlighted the importance of ensuring maritime security and preserving freedom of navigation for the sustainability of international trade, noting that these elements play a critical role in regional stability and global supply chains.
Peru’s Foreign Minister Hugo de Zela expressed solidarity with Qatar in light of the developments, and other issues related to bilateral cooperation and mutual interests were also discussed.
