Person attempting to enter Trump’s residence shot dead
Washington, 23 February (Hibya) - According to a statement by the United States (US) Secret Service, a man was shot and killed after entering the secured perimeter of US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.
Officials said the suspect was a white male carrying a shotgun and a fuel can when he was seen near the north gate of Mar-a-Lago.
According to CBS News, multiple sources identified the suspect as 21-year-old Austin T. Martin.
Authorities are investigating whether Martin purchased the weapon while driving from his hometown in North Carolina, where his family reported him missing on Saturday.
Officials stated that the US President was not in Florida at the time of the incident.
