Lahbib: I have secured commitments to facilitate aid distribution
Brussels, February 23 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib reiterated support for Ukraine’s resistance and called for the expansion of crossings at the Rafah border gate to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib made a statement regarding both the war in Ukraine and the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Referring to Ukraine’s defensive struggle, Lahbib said, “Ukraine has been resisting for four years. Our support continues. In the Great Lakes region, I have secured commitments to facilitate the distribution of aid. Now the real test is the implementation phase.”
Making clear demands to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Commissioner Lahbib stated, “Gaza: We call for the expansion of crossings via Rafah, the narrowing of dual-use restrictions, and enabling NGOs operating on the ground.”
