Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek.

According to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting discussed the priorities Pakistan has set as part of its SCO chairmanship for 2026–2027 and the approach it plans to pursue.

The SCO Secretary-General congratulated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship and assured that the organization’s secretariat would provide full cooperation in advancing Pakistan’s priorities.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain close contact throughout Pakistan’s SCO chairmanship and to carry out their work in a coordinated manner.

Dar was reported to have shared Pakistan’s priorities for its chairmanship and its proposed approach with the Secretary-General, while the SCO Secretary-General expressed support for those priorities.

Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch and SCO National Coordinator Muhammad Faisal also attended the meeting.
