Orban: No to Ukraine’s EU membership and funding
Budapest, 23 January (Hibya) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said ahead of the upcoming elections that his country’s priority is its own citizens, opposing Ukraine’s membership in the European Union (EU) and the transfer of funds.
Hungarian Prime Minister Orban made statements ahead of the upcoming elections. “Hungarian citizens come first, without exception. We say ‘no’ to Ukraine’s EU membership. We say ‘no’ to sending Hungarian funds to Ukraine,” he said.
Orban emphasized that other countries may transfer resources to Ukraine if they wish, but this should not be done through the EU and at Hungary’s expense.
