Montenegrin Prime Minister Spajic said in a social media post that the minimum net wage will be 1,000 euros for employees with basic or lower levels of education, 1,250 euros for secondary school graduates and 1,400 euros for higher education graduates.

Spajic said salaries above the minimum wage will also increase. He gave an example in which an employer currently pays 1,980 euros for a net salary of 1,600 euros; with the same employer cost, the employee will receive a net salary of 1,870 euros from January. He added that if the social partners accept the government’s request for the increase in the calculation value of the wage coefficient to be applied equally in the public and private sectors, that net salary could exceed 2,000 euros.

Spajic said the tax burden on labor will be reduced under the program and that pensions will be adjusted four times a year starting in 2027. He also announced that average pensions will rise above 600 euros in April, the minimum pension will exceed 500 euros, and every pensioner will receive an additional 100 euros in December as winter support.
