More than 100 commercial driving schools under investigation in the US
Washington, August 31 (Hibya) – The United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) has launched a sweeping operation targeting driving schools that provide commercial driver's license (CDL) training and have been found to have committed irregularities. The White House said the investigation aims to shut down more than 100 schools.
In a statement, the White House alleged that the schools allowed people who do not speak English to operate heavy commercial vehicles, putting the safety of American citizens at risk.
The statement said the Trump administration would investigate the alleged irregularities through an interagency effort and that schools found to have engaged in fraud would be shut down. It noted that the measure is intended to make roads safer.
