Brussels, 16 March (Hibya) - President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola met with the executives of Europe’s leading banks and called for the effective use of capital to boost economic growth and competitiveness.
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola made a statement regarding Europe’s economic strategy and the role of the banking sector in this process.
Highlighting the importance of the week, Metsola said, “This week is a very important week for Europe’s competitiveness. In my meeting this morning with the CEOs and Chairpersons of the Boards of Europe’s largest banks, I underlined the European Parliament’s call for concrete steps to mobilize capital in order to strengthen Europe’s economic future.”
Emphasizing the strategic position of the banking sector in the development of the Union, Metsola stated, “European banks are key partners in financing innovation, investment and growth across our Union.”
