Metsola: Europe's heart beats strongest in its regions
Brussels, June 26 (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola met with Azores Regional President José Manuel Bolieiro and Madeira Regional President Miguel Albuquerque in Lisbon, Portugal.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola marked the 50th anniversary of the constitutional autonomy of the Azores and Madeira, saying, “Europe's heart beats strongest in its regions.”
Pointing out that Europe's outermost regions face unique challenges, Metsola said, “These regions deserve concrete solutions and support tailored to their needs.”
Emphasizing that no person and no region should be left behind, Metsola stated, “Europe must do everything it can to listen better, be closer to its citizens, and respond more effectively.”
