Carney: Design competition launched for Canada's Prime Minister's official residence
Ottawa, June 26 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the launch of a design and construction competition to renovate 24 Sussex Drive, the official residence of the Prime Minister.
Carney said the residence, which has been vacant for years and has fallen into serious disrepair, will be restored to a standard worthy of the country.
Carney stated, “We are restoring 24 Sussex Drive to a standard worthy of the country it serves. Today, the building stands vacant and is in critical condition. We are launching a design and construction competition that will bring together Canada's finest talent and expertise to preserve this national symbol, return it to service, and leave it in better condition for future generations than when we inherited it.”
