Meloni: We want a balanced budget that excludes new European taxes
Rome, September 15 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed key issues on the European and international agenda with European Council President António Costa.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a statement that she met with European Council President António Costa at Palazzo Chigi.
The meeting addressed negotiations on the 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework, Europe's competitiveness, the Common Agricultural Policy and Cohesion Policy, as well as support for industry and research.
Meloni said urgent and targeted measures should be taken at the European level in response to rising energy prices, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening border controls, reinforcing the external dimension and implementing a return policy as part of efforts to combat irregular migration.
