Macron: All signs indicate that Hezbollah is responsible for this attack
Paris, April 18 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron claimed that the attack against French soldiers serving within UNIFIL in southern Lebanon was carried out by Hezbollah.
French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the losses suffered and the processes being pursued against those responsible for the attack.
Sharing details of the attack, Macron said: “Master Corporal Florian Montorio, from the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment in Montauban, lost his life this morning during an attack against UNIFIL in southern Lebanon. Three of his fellow soldiers were wounded and evacuated.”
Expressing support for military personnel, Macron said: “The nation extends its respect and support to the families of our fallen soldiers and to all our military personnel dedicated to peace in Lebanon.”
Holding Hezbollah responsible for the attack, Macron stated: “All signs indicate that Hezbollah is responsible for this attack. France is demanding that the Lebanese authorities immediately arrest those responsible and assume responsibility together with UNIFIL.”
