Lutnick: There can be no limit to my respect for those serving in the FDNY
Washington, September 12 (Hibya) - US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick commemorated the courage and heroism shown by members of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks and expressed his respect for them.
US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick shared his feelings about the events he witnessed during September 11 and drew attention to the sacrifice of firefighters who risked their lives.
Recalling what he witnessed at the time, Lutnick said: “After a long day, I stopped by Stone Street. Twenty-five years ago, while I was standing at the entrance to the World Trade Center, everyone was running out. Only those extraordinary men and women of the FDNY (New York City Fire Department) were going in.”
Lutnick concluded his statement by saying: “Under the most dire circumstances, I personally witnessed pure and genuine courage and heroism. There can be no limit to my respect for those who serve in the FDNY.”
