Lahbib: Gaza’s humanitarian space is shrinking
Brussels, May 29 (Hibya) - European Union Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib made a statement about the shrinking humanitarian corridors in Gaza, the impact of military operations on civilians, and the need to respect international law.
European Union Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib emphasized the scale of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Stating that aid operations in the region are being obstructed, Lahbib said: “Gaza’s humanitarian space is shrinking. As Israeli military control expands, shifting boundaries hinder aid workers and cut off essential services, including clean water, for those in need.”
Referring to the challenges faced by civilians and legal responsibilities, Lahbib stated: “Families are trapped between boundaries that move without warning. International humanitarian law must be respected.”
