Lahbib: Antibiotic resistance poses a global threat
Brussels, April 7 (Hibya) – European Commission member Hadja Lahbib stated that antibiotic resistance and neglected tropical diseases are growing global threats.
European Commission member Hadja Lahbib reported that antibiotic resistance and neglected tropical diseases are among the threats increasing on a global scale.
Lahbib said: “Antibiotic resistance and neglected tropical diseases are two growing global threats.”
Noting that preparedness is being strengthened through new R&D investments, Lahbib added: “We are investing 30 million euros to accelerate the development of new antibiotics and 20 million euros to develop medical treatments for dengue.”
