In a statement during her visit to Pakistan, Kallas said, “Pakistan is a major regional power and an important partner for the EU,” noting that she met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister in Islamabad.

Kallas also emphasized that she appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating the U.S.-Iran talks, stating, “I appreciated Pakistan’s key role in this process.”

Referring to economic relations, Kallas said, “The EU is Pakistan’s largest export market, and Pakistan is the country that benefits the most from the EU’s trade preferences (Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus - GSP+).”
