EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas made statements regarding developments in the Middle East.

Kallas said, “Hezbollah dragged Lebanon into war, but Israel’s right to self-defense does not justify destruction on this scale.”

Referring to recent Israeli attacks, Kallas said, “Israel’s attacks killed hundreds of people last night, and it is difficult to consider such severe actions as self-defense.”

Emphasizing the ceasefire process, Kallas stated, “Israel’s actions are placing serious pressure on the US-Iran ceasefire. The ceasefire should be expanded to include Lebanon.”

Kallas also said, “Hezbollah must be disarmed. The European Union supports Lebanon’s efforts in this regard.”
