According to CCTV, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei made assessments on the economy at a time when sanctions imposed by the United States (US) and Israel have intensified.

Khamenei called for greater domestic innovation and stronger economic resilience so that the country can cope with economic pressures.

In a written statement issued on Friday, Khamenei also warned against actions and rhetoric that could weaken social cohesion. Calling on Iranian officials to preserve national unity and public motivation, Khamenei emphasized that behavior or speech that harms social cohesion is strictly prohibited.

Khamenei praised the government’s efforts in the face of increasing US economic blockades. He said Iran must preserve, develop and continue to demonstrate its strength under the current complex conditions.

Calling on Iranian officials to prioritize the economy and the livelihoods of the people, Khamenei said domestic production should be increased. He also called for the dominance of the US dollar within the national economy to be systematically reduced.

Khamenei said efforts should also be made to gradually eliminate negative factors in the national economy.

Khamenei said new technologies should be used more extensively to support the country’s development and progress.

In this context, he drew attention to the importance of using new technologies in the industrial, agricultural, cultural and education sectors. Khamenei called for increasing technological capacity in these areas to ensure economic and social development.

Khamenei called on Iranian officials to refrain from using discouraging statements that could weaken national and public motivation.

Khamenei emphasized that any behavior or speech that could harm social unity and national social cohesion is strictly prohibited.
