Guterres: We must build new paths to peace together
New York, September 19 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the women and men serving in UN peacekeeping operations create space for dialogue in conflict zones and open paths to peace.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said personnel serving in UN peacekeeping operations continue their work in some of the world’s most dangerous regions.
Guterres said: “Every day, in some of the most dangerous places on Earth, the women and men serving for peace in UN peacekeeping operations create space for dialogue and open paths to peace.”
Noting that people living in the shadow of war place their trust in UN peacekeeping personnel, Guterres said: “We must be worthy of that trust, stand united with those who build it, and together create new paths to peace.”
