Anand: I will deliver Canada’s national statement from the General Assembly podium
Ottawa, September 19 (Hibya) – Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced that she will join the Canadian delegation and Prime Minister Mark Carney at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly and will deliver Canada’s national statement on September 26.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said she will meet with leaders and foreign ministers from various countries during the UN General Assembly to discuss key issues related to security, sovereignty and prosperity.
Stating that the talks will focus on building the partnerships needed to advance Canada’s interests in a changing global environment, Anand said: “Canada will use these meetings as an opportunity to strengthen international coordination where it is needed most, from enhancing maritime security and supporting Ukraine to protecting civilians in conflict zones.”
Anand said she will take the General Assembly podium on September 26 to deliver Canada’s national statement, adding: “I will take the General Assembly podium to deliver Canada’s national statement, an extremely important opportunity to speak on behalf of our country. I look forward to presenting Canada’s principled and pragmatic role in today’s world.”
