Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto held meetings as part of his official visit to Qatar.

Crosetto said he had a productive meeting with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, stating: “Qatar is an important country for regional stability and a leading actor in the Middle East context.”

Referring to Qatar’s role, Crosetto said: “Qatar has historically played an important mediation role and stands out as a pragmatic and reliable counterpart in other crises.”

Touching on bilateral relations, Crosetto stated: “We shared the will to strengthen the friendship between our countries, work together for peace in the Middle East, and increase cooperation on issues affecting the region’s dynamism, security, and economy.”

Highlighting defense cooperation, Crosetto said: “We agreed to further strengthen the excellent cooperation in the Armed Forces and the defense industry sector.”
