CENTCOM denies Iranian state media claims of attack on U.S. warship
Washington, May 4 (Hibya) - According to a statement by the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), claims in Iranian state media that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out a missile attack on a U.S. warship are not true.
The statement said that no U.S. Navy ship was attacked or hit.
It was reported that U.S. forces in the region continue to support Project Liberty and maintain the naval blockade of Iranian ports.
In its statement correcting disinformation, CENTCOM said:
“No U.S. Navy ship was hit. U.S. forces support Project Liberty and continue the naval blockade of Iranian ports. Iranian state media claim that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked a U.S. warship with two missiles; however, this claim is false.”
