Canadian Foreign Minister Anand speaks with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi
Ottawa, October 25 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand expressed solidarity with Jordan following a terrorist attack during a funeral ceremony at a Greek Orthodox church in the Jordanian city of Karak. Anand emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand announced on social media that she had spoken with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
During the conversation, Anand reaffirmed Canada's solidarity with the Jordanian people and its determination to combat the hatred and extremism fueling such violence.
Noting that Jordan has played an important role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East for many years, Anand stated that close cooperation between the two countries remains essential at a time when the region faces serious challenges.
Anand added that she would remain in direct contact with her Jordanian counterpart in the coming weeks.
