Budrys: Ukraine's place in Europe must be secured
Vilnius, August 20 (Hibya) - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys called for increased pressure on Russia, saying that Ukraine must be provided with stronger air defenses and comprehensive support.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said Russia is not interested in peace and continues to escalate tensions through attacks on civilians.
Budrys said civilians were killed and residential buildings were destroyed in Russia's overnight missile and drone attacks.
Stating that Ukraine urgently needs stronger air defenses and more military, energy and financial support, Budrys said sanctions against Russia should be increased and stronger pressure should be applied to target the country's war-fighting capacity.
Budrys stressed that Ukraine's full integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, particularly the completion of its European Union (EU) membership by 2030, should be a strategic priority.
