Bermudez: The Cuba-Vietnam alliance shows the path to self-sufficiency
Havana, May 29 (Hibya) - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez highlighted the success achieved in agricultural production and the partnership behind it.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez made a statement about the rice production project carried out in Los Palacios, Pinar del Río, with the Vietnamese company Agri-VMA, the economic effects of South-South cooperation, and plans to expand the model across the country.
Emphasizing the project's production capacity, Díaz-Canel said: "In Los Palacios, Pinar del Río, an exemplary South-South cooperation project is underway. With more than 800 hectares under cultivation, very high yields, and a projected production of 14,000 tons of rice, the alliance between our Agricultural Grain Company and the Vietnamese company Agri-VMA is showing the way to self-sufficiency."
Referring to the socio-economic benefits of the model, Díaz-Canel stated: "This formula provides import substitution, decent employment, income for families, and overall well-being."
Sharing future plans and thanking Vietnam, Díaz-Canel concluded: "We agreed to transform this center into a training facility to educate our producers and transfer the model to other provinces. We thank Vietnam for its continued support."
