Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand emphasized that the full implementation of the ceasefire is vital for reducing tensions in the Middle East and preserving Lebanon’s state sovereignty.

Assessing the ceasefire decision, Anand said: "Canada welcomes the 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. This is an important step toward de-escalation, and all parties must fully respect and implement it to prevent further loss of life."

Recalling their stance on regional security and disarmament, Anand stated: "We reiterate that Hezbollah must be disarmed in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. Canada reaffirms its strong support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and state institutions."

Expressing solidarity with civilians, Anand concluded her statement by saying: "We stand in solidarity with civilians who continue to suffer the consequences of a conflict they did not choose. Canada will continue to advocate for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, as well as broader regional stability."
